Generally, these just feel great. A bit stiff at first, but are breaking in. Breathable, sylish- and a relief knowing there are no toxic chemicals used in the making of this shoe! I debated buying a cheaper option from another brand, but it feels good to invest in the 'right' product that aligns with eco values. Cheers.
I love my news shoes, they feel nice and solid and feel like they will last a while, unlike others I've recently had. Small issue with one of the laces which had a small fray and us beginning to fray a bit more.
Baan White
Good comfy sneakers and wide enough for a slightly wider foot. The inner sole is quite stiff and firm when compared to chucks or vans but still comfy - think Birkenstock soles. Would buy again.
Comfy shoes but not convinced they are worth the hassle. The laces gave out and snapped almost straight away, and had to be replaced (happened to both sets). Then the canvas colour faded quickly, the shoes are now a ashy/dark grey colour. Lastly, they tore from under the ankle to the sole. I will try and get them repaired but not sure I would purchase again. I've had the shoes less than a year.
Hi Donald, thanks for the feedback - genuinely appreciate it as even more challenging reviews provide good points for us to be continually improving against.
1. Re the laces - this has been a ongoing problem that's plagued some of our production over the past few years. We've finally changed suppliers so this shouldn't be an issue going forward. I wish you'd reached out at the time - we send out replacement sets to everyone who needs them.
2. The fading on our darkest colour pairs is a difficult compromise we've had to make when using environmentally friendly dyes.
3. The 'tearing through from the ankle to the sole' definitely isn't typical of our quality and is hard to gauge without seeing photos, but this can happen with a lot of wear over a long period of time. It's something that all canvas sneakers have to contend with, as natural fibre canvas ultimately doesn't have quite the same shear strength when compared to some synthetics. We think it's a compromise worth making however!

I've been looking for ages for a pair of fully vegan shoes that are comfortable and stylish and these are perfect! They fit well to size, really good to walk in , and feel structured and sturdy. Super happy!

Great service, communication and product. Quality!
Happy with the shoes - the insoles are comfy compared to other similar lightweight shoes.
Sizing comes up slightly small to size I think so if between sizes maybe go for the bigger size.
Really comfortable and love the stitching detail! I love that they are made of sustainable materials and I love the end of life recycling that Collective Canvas offers!
I ordered these after I couldn’t wait any longer for Supergas (which I’ve been wearing for years) to restock my size. I’m glad to support a NZ brand. These shoes are nice, well made a delivered quickly. I find the shoe laces to be too thin, as if they may snap from pulling them too tight, which I now need to do that I’ve broken them in and they have become loose.
Honestly, ordering sneakers from New Zealand to Switzerland sounds a bit crazy. But as a massive All Blacks fan, I stumbled upon this kiwi brand and obviously had to go with the all-black version. No synthetic trash, just sharp design and great natural materials. Now that they’ve arrived, I can confirm the quality is top-notch. It's a premium, independent sneaker you won’t see on every street corner here in Europe – a real eye-catcher. No regrets about the shipping distance. Great job, guys.
Great looking sturdy shoes made of natural materials. Immediately comfortable although still a little wearing in to do at this early stage. I like the plainness of the Baan design - no excessive sporty stripes, just solid colour chic.
Lovely shoe I unfortunately had to size up from my usual size. Just keep in mind.
These shoes are stylish, comfortable, affordable, don't give you blisters, and make you feel good about supporting sustainability. What more could you ask for? Oscar in customer service is a gem and was so helpful giving me sizing advice. I got a 39 (my usual EU size) and they are perfect, so I'd say go with the euro size.
Perfect fit, comfy and look great.
looking really cool and extremly comfortable !
So comfortable!!! Awesome!! Stoked!!
Collective Canvas are making the effort to look after the planet, AS WELL AS producing such a comfy good-looking sneaker. What is there not to love?!🤩🤩 I’m a repeat customer!
It’s always a bit of a gamble purchasing shoes online for the first time, however I received great support and answers to my questions. Shoes are comfy and made of quality materials; they also look good.
Very cute and comfortable straight away! I have only worn them once so far but they seem like great quality, we’ll see if they hold up well unlike some of the competitors🤞
Excellent shoes, I love that they are an NZ company, sustainably made and transparently priced. They look great and are super comfy!
After wearing these sneakers for a few weeks now, I am finding them really comfortable to walk in. My main reason for buying these was my focus on sustainability and trying to buy as much natural, fair trade products as possible with no plastic involved. The fact that they feel good too is added bonus !
These have been my work horse for years. (Obviously am office job). I love them.
Sooo comfy, love how well these shoes last.
This is my second pair of CCs. I’m at 37.5 and got a size 38 like last time, and the fit is good.
These are like chunky tennis shoes-really cute and versatile. Great company.
These are great, I'm completely happy with my purchase. Superb value for money.
Like my sneakers themselves but one of the shoelaces ripped on the 3rd wear (they were a bit short to begin with). Easy enough to replace but annoying to do so so early, and I've had shoelaces break on a pair of these sneakers previously so it's not just a one off
Big fan of a plant based shoe let alone a kiwi company! Great comms with the team prior to purchasing, quick shipping times. Fair price love the transparency. Only shoe I’ve been wearing since they arrived. Will 100% purchase from Collective Canvas again!
Never wore any shoes as comfy as these. Like I would live in these if I could. The cork insole is surprisingly soft and now I can’t see myself living without shoes like this. I will gladly buy more of the range in the future.
These shoes were immediately comfy and they go with anything! It feels great knowing they're good for the planet too - thanks team CC :)
